He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth Lee Smith and Rhea Smith (Bowman); and his wife Linda Carol Smith (Johnson). He is survived by : his stepdaughter Robin Heske (Steve); his children, April Gamber, Jamie Smith, Vernon Smith, Jr. (Lois) and Kenneth Smith (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Tori, Alethea, Trey, Preston, Brady and Bryson. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
