She was predeceased by: her parent Hammond Shannahan; her son James Reid Barnes; and her siblings-in-law, Peggy Shenton, Mary Jane Barnes and Clark Long.
She is survived by: her parent Jeanette Mills Shannahan; her son Franklin L. Barnes, Jr. (Kathy) of Cambridge; her grandchildren, David F. Barnes and Kevin E. Barnes (Lauren Evans Barnes); her great grandchildren, Ariah H. Matos and David F. Barnes, Jr.; her sisters, Shirley Long of Delaware and Diane Palamaras (Archie) of Cambridge; and her close friend Brenda Cephas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
