He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harrison Ross, Sr. and Lottie Mae Scott Ross; and his siblings, James H. Ross, Jr., George H. Ross, Raymond H. Ross, Lavenia Sherwood and Lucretia Jester.

He is survived by: his sons, Brian L. Ross (Edie) of Preston, Warren A. Ross of Hurlock and Darrel K. Ross of Preston; his daughter-in-law Debbie Cosden; his stepgranddaughter Hannah Cosden; and his great grandchildren, Rosalie Griffin, McKenzie Hall, Athena Ross, Aubrianna and Seth.
