In the sacred silence of farewell, Rachel is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eva J. Gaines-McDaniel and Julian McDaniel; and her husband Karcenia Palmer, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Beatrice W. Palmer, Karcenia Palmer, Jr. and Sherrie D. Palmer; her daughter-in-law Brenda Palmer; her grandchild Shaun K.; and her great grandchildren, Julian Gordan and Zoe Parker.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church (1636 East Capitol St NE, Washington, DC 20003). A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the National Harmony Memorial Park (7101 Sheriff Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20785).
