He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Balengee Heavner, Sr. and Grace Estelle Heavner (Frantz) of Cumberland, MD.; and his sons, David Douglas Heavner, O. D. (Stacy) of Millsboro, DE and Paul Harvard Heavner.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Heavner (Thomas); his sons, Scott Richard Heavner (Tacie) of Cumberland, MD and Phillip Addison Heavner (Marielle Ainsworth) of Cooperstown, NY.; his grandchildren, William, Megan, Lindsay, Bradley, Robert, Steven, Nathan, Brendan and Maggie; his great grandchild James; and his siblings, Richard, Ronald Heavner, Bessie Park, Alice Young, Rose Rubin, William, Roger, Harold, Franklin, Dr. James, Herbert Heavner and Joretta Chaney.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Centenary United Methodist Church.
