He is survived by: his parent Maggie Bell Powell (Grapes); his wife Hadessa "Dessie" Powell (Bishop); his daughters, Donna Laverne Dawson (Charles), Wilda Diana Todd (Richard) and Brenda Joyce Rice; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Dawson, Beth Dawson, Sarah Scott, Joseph Bray, Julie Crawford and Jacki Atkinson.
