She was predeceased by: her parents, John Francis Hawkins and Edith Elizabeth Fitzsimmons; her husband Josh Vito; her son John Sutherland; and her grandson Jimmy Sherrod.
She is survived by: her daughter Marjorie Shipley (Russell); her grandchildren, Jennifer and Johnny of Berwyn Heights, Maryland; her child Tracy Vito-Barbour (Joe); her grandchildren, Krista, Dustin and Alyssa of Thurmont, Maryland; her son Steven J. Vito (Janine); her grandsons, Anthony and Bradley of Port Charlotte, Florida; her daughter Kristina Christie (Skipper); and her grandchildren, Shannon, Heather and Jared of Gainesville, Florida.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
