With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Joan Nelson of Dowell, Maryland, born in Astoria, New York, who passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barbara Joan Nelson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucia Turner Dunham of Oklahoma City, OK and Charles E. Moran of Hunns Lake, NY.; and her husband Clifford C. Nelson. She is survived by: her children, Sheri Waters (John) of Glen Burnie, MD, Scott Nelson (Cathy) of Manokin-Sabot, VA, Kevin Nelson of Hopewell, VA and Leslie Amburn (Preston) of King William, VA; and her sister Judith L. Hicks of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to be made to the Solomons VRSFD, P.O. Box 189, Solomons, MD 20688 and or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children c/o India Temple, 3601 NW 36th , Oklahoma City, OK.
