He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Joan F. Gibbons; his children, Joan F. Hite (James) and John F.; his grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Sean, Michael, Kevin, Megan and Brigid; and his siblings, Patricia Macker, Margie Young, John Gibbons and Jean Davidson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
