He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory W. Helvey and Pauline Helvey. He is survived by: his wife Patricia J. Helvey of Stevensville, MD.; his children, Michael Helvey (Mary) of Burke, VA and Karen Helvey Himebook of Lawrenceville, GA.; his siblings, Kathryn Bone (Ted) of West Virginia and William Helvey (Barbara) of Upper Marlboro, MD.; his grandchildren, Matthew (Rochelle), Robert Helvey, Taylor, Sylvia and Kathryn Himebook; and his pet Sir Bentley.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Kent Island United Methodist Church.
