It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Oester of Grantsville, Maryland, born in Accident, Maryland, who passed away on March 19, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John H. Bowman and Amelia C. Bowman (Kahl); her husband William Calvin Oester; her daughter Patricia Smith; her granddaughter Rachel Smith; her son-in-law Steve Pope; and her brothers, John Bowman, Jr. and Jackie Bowman.
She is survived by : her brother Agway; her children, James Oester, Donna Pope and Brenda Kucharczyk (James); her son-in-law Marsh Smith; her brother James Bowman; her grandchildren, Faith Ritchie, Joshua Smith, Aaron Smith, Christa Martin and James Kucharczyk; and her great grandchildren, Brooke, Della and Logan.
