He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Julius and Edna Hazel Oester (Miller); his wife Aquilla Mae Oester (Richter); and his siblings, William Calvin Oester and Marjorie M. Kretlow (Oester).
He is survived by: his children, Rev. David A. Oester of Oil City, PA, Gary E. Oester (Belinda), Barbara J. Diehl (Michael) of Addison, PA and Linda K. Palmer (Robert) of Fredericksburg, VA; his grandchildren, Brittany N. Diehl, Jordan K. Misey (Kristopher), Adam M. Diehl, Jonathan and Katrina Oester; and his sister Carol E. Miller of Cumberland, MD..
