He was predeceased by : his parents, Salvatore Messina and Carmella Messina; his wife Linda Carol Messina (Scanlon); and his siblings, Paul A. Messina and Catherine Messina.

He is survived by : his children, Salvatore Messina, Jr., Michele Drgos (Joe), Valerie Arnold (Brooks) and April Messina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
