It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Swain (Hagerstown, Maryland), born in Sharpsburg, Maryland, who passed away on March 17, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Thomas Roy; and her siblings, Margaret Wageley, Martha Jane Wageley, Carl Poffenberger, Woodrow Poffenberger, James Poffenberger and David Poffenberger.
She is survived by: her spouse Robert Swain; her parent Ada Mae Colbert Poffenberger; and her significant other Mindy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made to her church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 64 South Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713; or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
