He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood McLaughlin Burkholder, Sr. and Rebecca Jane Worthington Burkholder; his former wife Lillian Viola Burkholder (Renner); his wife Vivian Jeanette Burkholder (Renner); his daughter Donna K. Burkholder; and his siblings, Elwood M. Burkholder, Jr. and Lucille M. Fisher.
He is survived by: his children, Clayton "Chuck" Burkholder, Brian Burkholder (Sherrie), Lisa Hutzel (Ronald) and Patti Moats (David); his grandchildren, Donnie, Michelle, Caitlin, Haley, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jeffery, Krystal and Melissa; and his close friend Chip Stickler. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
