He is survived by: his parents, Tarek El-Shafey and Renee Ricci; his children, Jacklyn El-Shafey, Adriana and Amira; and his siblings, Caiti El-Shafey of Frederick, Jennifer Barber (Chad) of Libertytown and Robby El-Shafey (Megan Bell) of Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to establish a fund for Adriana and Amira.
