He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley Russ Sr. and Eva Russ (Williams); and his siblings, William McKinley Russ, Jr., Nelson Russ, Allen Russ, Roy Russ, Franklin Russ, Kenneth Russ, Beatrice Young, Betty Davis, Juanita Watson, Margaret Barnett, Dorothea Frisby and Catherine Russ.
He is survived by: his children, Neal Russ of Hagerstown, MD, James Russ, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Vanessa Russ of Hagerstown, MD and Sharlene Russ of Hagerstown, MD; his brother Rudolph Russ; his fiancée Norma Jones; his stepson Larry Dorsey; and his sisters-in-law, Hilda Russ, Lucille Russ and Frankie Russ. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
