She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry Schmidt and Dora Virginia Schmidt (Steiding); her husband George Nethken; and her sisters, Marie Tasker, Marian Gross, Wilda Fitzwater and Dolores Poling.

She is survived by: her daughter Gretchen Buddenhagen of Hagerstown, MD; and her sister Margaret Garner of Bridgewater, VA.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
