He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward N. Stevens and Mary E. Alexander Stevens; his former wife May Delores Keefer Stevens; his wife Helen Rosalie Emerick Stevens; his son Allen Eugene Stevens; and his siblings, Earl Stevens, Eva Miller and Miriam Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his son James W. Stevens of Hagerstown; and his stepchildren, Beverly A. Gillette (James) of Sebring, Kimberly S. Christo (George) of Washington, D. C., Robert R. Kline (Donna) of Cumberland, Michael L. Kline of Magnolia, Raymond L. Puglisi (Tracey) of Keedysville, LeRoy C. House, Jr. of York, Patricia Hornbaker (William) of Newport News, Virginia and Sandra L. Puglisi of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by many grandchildren, stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
