He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta Groves (Cleary); his son-law Marty Spelman; and his granddaughter Alyssa Hall (Joseph). He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Miller (Mark Todd), Susan (Su), Crutchfield (Alan) and Diane Spelman; his grandchildren, Tim, Lori Miller, Tommy, Michelle Miller, Christie, Justin Barrick, Michael Gregory, Camille Leclerc-Gregory, Mary Spelman (Joel Garner) and Jon Crutchfield; and his great grandchildren, Brooke, Morgan, Olivia Miller, Thomas, Madison Miller, Cody Hise, Jr., Maya, Emma Garner, Maryssa, Aireonna Hall, Lillian, Macayla, Austen Barrick and Theo Gregory.
