She was predeceased by: her husband Aubrey Carlton; her son Ernest Lee; and her grandchildren, Suzanna Swartz and Daniel Eugene Swartz, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Mildred Marie Banks, Nancy Ann Ruffin of North Carolina, Robert James, Daniel Eugene and Timmy Lee of Maryland; her sister Helen Echard; and her grandchildren, Lisa, Richard, Lori, David and Jonathan. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
