He was predeceased by: his parent Dorothy Estep; his stepfather James Asquith (Betty); and his sister Nancy "Tootsie" Ireland. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Moreland; his children, Wendy Owens, Joe Estep (Tina) and Jackie Shartzer (Buddy); his grandchildren, Kim, Keith, Will, April, Jarrett and Dylan; and his great grandchild Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern High FFA in his name.
