It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Mildred Shorter of Newcomb, Maryland, who passed away at the age of 93, on July 28, 2020. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Goldsborough Gootee and Mildred Wallace Gootee; her husband John Melvin Hubbard; her former husband Carlton R. Shorter, Sr.; her siblings, Hoover Gootee, Phillip Gootee (Sara), Leonard Gootee (Irene), Frances Paul (Melvin, Sr.) and Anna Hubbard (Edgar); her granddaughter Mary Beth Marshall; and her siblings' children, Billy Gootee and Ramona Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Bonnie Marshall (Nelson) of Golden Hill and Ricky Shorter (Dawn) of Cambridge; her grandsons, Scot Marshall of California, Daniel Shorter (Tomilynn) of Cambridge and Eric Shorter of Cambridge; and her great grandchild Thurman Carlton Shorter. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to COVID 19 regulations social distancing and wearing of mask will be required.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mildred should be made to St. Johns' UM Church, c/o Ms Doris Lewis, 3347 Golden Hill Road, Church Creek, Maryland 21622.
