He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Smith and Catherine Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lois Smith; his sons, Jeff Smith (Hope) and Scott Smith (Amanda); his grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Joshua Smith (Abigail), Logan Smith and Morgan Smith; and his siblings, Jack Smith (Debbie) and Catherine Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community United Methodist Church in Pasadena, MD.
