He was predeceased by : his parents, William Harrison and Elizabeth C. Graybeal Farmer; his former life partner Dorothy Poist Farmer; his son Kenneth Elliott Farmer; and his siblings, Inez Irene Moore, William Edward Farmer, Herbert Farmer and Roy Bruce Farmer.

He is survived by : his wife Lula Earlene Farmer of Port Deposit, MD; his daughters, Charlotte F. Meck (John) of Port Deposit, MD, Marianne F. Bitner of Port Deposit, MD and Diane Cook (Steve) of Rocklege, FL; his grandsons, John Delmar Meck (Carrie) of Perryville, MD, Mark Alan Meck of Port Deposit, MD and Eric George Hanson (Crysta) of Joppa, MD; and his great grandchildren, Alexandra Meck, Cristian Hanson and Carter Terasawa.
