He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Joseph Umstead and Elizabeth Eckstine Liskey; his sister Bettie Ann; and his brother-in-law Ed Witt. He is survived by: his close friend Yong Soon Barker of Alexandria, Virginia; his nieces, Theresa Grate (Jay), Karen Witt (Larry Goeller) and Alicia Clugh (Dave); and his nephew Louis Witt (Anne). He is also survived by six grandnieces and a grandnephew.
