She was predeceased by: her parents, Lt. Colonel Chester S. Tyler and Ethel; her sisters, Ann Tyler Gillett and Christine Tyler Young; her former husband Harry "Chip" Wallis Jr.; and her husband Thomas Diehl.
She is survived by: her children, Stephanie Wallis Williams (Forrest) of Leland, L. Tyler Wallis of Hamlin, NY and Courtney Hill of Raleigh; her granddaughters, Ella Wallis, Lyda Williams, Violet Wallis and Anna Williams; her stepson Benjamin Diehl (Christine) of Boulder, CO; her stepgrandchildren, Elise and Sutton; her stepson Jason Diehl (Lisa) of St. Louis, MO; and her stepgrandchildren, Julia and Ryan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Cynthia's name to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org) or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
