We are sad to announce that on May 21, 2025, at the age of 72, Leah Louise Van Gelder of Salisbury, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Leah Louise Van departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Leah Louise Van may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Leah Louise Van leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald N. Ruth and Mary Louise Ruth (Smith). She is survived by: her husband Richard H. "Dick" Van Gelder (Dick); her daughter Alaina Van Gelder (Daniel Harris); and her sisters, Patricia Robinson and Donna Shorter. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
