He is survived by: his children, Diane Martin Wayne Simmons (Sammy), Perry Simmons (Sonya) and Alvin King; his stepchildren, Marlene Murphy (Bernie), Byron Young (Crystal), John Cummings and Segun Akinribido; his sibling Blanton Simmons; and his aunt Ruby Thomas. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.
