He was predeceased by: his siblings, Milton Hartman, Donald Hartman, Olin Hartman, Harold Hartman and Doris Dudley.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Fischer Hartman; his children, Karen M. Hamilton, John Hartman (Suzanne) and Charlie Hartman (Robin); and his grandchildren, Carrie Magdar (Eric), Jason Hamilton (Lindsay) and Sarah Paxton (Kevin). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
