He was predeceased by: his parents, Asgeir Petursson and Bjorg Einarsdottir. He is survived by: his wife Svana Petursson; his daughters, Hanna, Hekla and Brynja Petursson; and his siblings, Steinunn Asgeirsdottir (Asgeir), Einar Petursson (Elizabeth) and Maria Asgeirsdottir.
