He was predeceased by: his parents, Congressman Leo E. Allen of Illinois and Gladys F. Allen; his wife Verna E. Allen; and his sisters, Dawn E. Mirando and Eleanor L..
He is survived by: his children, Richard K. Allen of Silver Spring, MD, Denelle K. Freund (Alan) of Oakton, VA, Nancy S. Allen-Dodrill (Neil) of Punta Gorda, FL, Bruce S. Allen (Christine) of Clayton, DE and Susan E. Allen of Baltimore, MD.; and his siblings, David W. and Mary C. Harrelson of Niles, IL.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
