He was predeceased by: his spouse Mary Schmidt Velez; and his sibling Tomas Velez. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Velez (Kimberly), Francis Velez (Roseann), Mary V. Hood (Robert) and Carmen C. Velez; and his sibling Jose Velez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
