He was predeceased by: his child Barbara Pope. He is survived by: his spouse Marie Catherine Sims (Sullivan); his children, Jackie Speights (Stephen) and Herbert J. Sims, III (Anne-Marie); his child-in-law Earle Pope; his grandchildren, Kellie Trainor, Alec Speights, Julia Cortese, Stephanie Speights, Rachel Pope, Mackenzie Sims and Daniel Sims; and his nephew Jay Burns.
