He was predeceased by: his parents, William Quillen and Edith Truitt Quillen; and his siblings, Willie, Fred, Bobby Quillen, Ollie West, Mattie Lewis, Gladys Joseph, Louise Littleton, Elizabeth Bradford, Nora Lee Bunting, Virginia Taylor and Naomi Hastings.
He is survived by: his wife Gisela Quillen; his children, James E. Quillen, Jr. and Gabriele "Gaby" Windsor (Dan) of Whaleyville; his grandson Jason Windsor (Audrey) of Whaleyville; his great grandchildren, Paige, Piper, Parker, Addy and Raylan; and his sister Madeline Moore (Fred) of Berlin.
