He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen P. Kelly and Pearl E. Kelly (Reed); his stepmother Helen Kelly; his sister Joyce Estes; his brothers-in-law, Leo Estes, Richard Saucier and Dennis Barron; and his grandchildren, Joseph W. Violette, II and Jerica L. Hersom.
He is survived by: his wife Janice L. Kelly; his son James R. Violette, Jr. (Janice) of Oakland, ME; his granddaughter Margot Cowing (Roy); his great grandchildren, Emily Cowing (Oden Sanders), Hunter Cowing and Quinn Cowing of Edina, MN; his grandson James R. Violette, III of Oakland, ME; his great grandchildren, Andrew of Clinton, ME and Taylor Peters of Prairie Grove, AR; his daughter Janeen L. Violette; his grandson Jared J. Hersom; his great grandchild Gemma Hersom of Jacksonville, FL; his son Joseph W. Violette (Mary Dangler) of Clinton, ME; his granddaughter Elizabeth Violette of Winslow, ME; his great grandchild Jay Dangler of Fairfield, ME; his siblings, Sheila Henderson (David), Gail Saucier of Madison, ME, Carolee Barron of Madison, ME and Alva Reed (Shirley); and his pet Chloe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, several Canadian aunts, uncles and cousins.
