He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Morley and Alice Durost; his daughter Vickie Hanson; and his siblings, David Durost, Donald Durost, Marjorie Gammon and Audrie Sweet.

He is survived by: his wife Sally Durost (Marstaller); his children, Becky Durost Fish, Edie Emerson and Rich Durost; and his siblings, Barbara Farina, Margaret George and Robert Durost. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
