He was predeceased by : his mother Marguerite Davis Hamilton; his stepfather Allen "Iky" Hamilton; and his father John R. Reed. He is survived by : his wife Lois I. Worster of Dexter; his daughters, Susan Reed Page of Dexter and Stacey Reed Barker (Jeffrey) of New York; his granddaughters, Emily and Abigail Barker; his sister Glenice Leavitt (Spencer Speed) of Arkansas; and his pet Maggie. He is also survived by several nephews, cousins.

They celebrated 50 years of marriage (COVID-style) in 2020.
