It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donal Staples of Falmouth, Maine, born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 9, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine (Dobie); his children, Gregory and Suzanne; his parents, Fred and Althea (Fifield); and his siblings, Natalie Henderson, Fred Jr., Winifred Peterson, Selwyn, Cynthia Josselyn, Gloria Peterson and Judith Hubbard.
He is survived by: his children, Donal Jr. (Anne) of Falmouth, Sandra Staples-Bortner (Brad) of Cathlamet and Robin Maccini (Brian) of Westport; and his daughter-in-law Karen Staples (Gregory) of Melbourne. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Donal survived a mild case of Covid19 in April and a broken hip in May, but then was brought down by the pandemic-induced isolation he endured during 2020.
