He is survived by: his children, Donald DeMerchant (Alexandra Edmunds) of Bethel, Amy DeMerchant of Portland and Cathy Sherman of Orono; his sister Judith Cohen (Herbert) of Kennebunkport; his grandchildren, Eira DeMerchant, Chelsea Kirk and Allison Burditt; and his nieces, Barrie McMullen, Beth Cohen, Sue Cohen and Ali Curtis.
