It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gaetan L. Oakes of Fort Kent, Maine, who passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Camille Oakes and Rejanne Oakes (Tardif); and his siblings, Majella and Rosaire. He is survived by: his wife Carroll Ann Oakes (Thibodeau) of Fort Kent; his children, Joseph Oakes (Mariah) of Fort Kent, Amanda Oakes (David Severe) of Fort Kent, Josiah Oakes of Fort Kent, Alissa Oakes of Fort Kent, Jaxxi and Skye of Fort Kent; his grandchildren, Donovan Leo Severe of Fort Kent and Theo Jackson Oakes of Fort Kent; and his siblings, Jean Luc, Camillien, Real, Roland, Collette, Gaetane and Micheline. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
