It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita R. Denis (Gardiner, Maine), born in Lewiston, Maine, who passed away on December 14, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Fortin and Armandine Veilleux Fortin; her husband Camille Denis; and her brothers, Raoul, Roland, Roger and Joseph.
She is survived by: her nieces, Flo (Larry), Diane and Louise; her sisters-in-law, Ludgarde Fortin, Lucille Fortin and Gertrude Sleeper; her children, Claudette Gregor (Thomas) and Victor Denis (Reina) of Topsham; and her godchildren, Donald E. Fortin, Sr. and Rejeanne Cote. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday December 19, from 6PM to 8PM at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner following the guidelines set by the state of Maine and the CDC for mask wearing and social distancing.
