John Downing Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Downing of Kennebunk, Maine, who passed away on March 22, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of John Downing to show support.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel O Downing and Eleanor Downing; and his sister Martha Boothby. He is survived by : his wife Nancy Freeman Downing; his children, Susan Downing and Samuel Downing (Amanda); his grandchildren, Quinn of Kennebunk and Lily Downing of Kennebunk; and his sisters, Mary Benbow (John) of La Jolla, CA and Barbara Freeman of Ocean Park. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID guidelines but still wanting to be able to remember this great man, the community is invited to honor John's memory with a drive by visitation to be held 1-3 PM Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. Kennebunk.
