It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn S. Barrett of Kittery Point, Maine, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on July 10, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Fahnestock Steele and George S. Steele; and her daughter Deborah Evelyn. She is survived by: her brother George S. Steele Jr.; her children, Katherine Barrett Zywan (Daniel Zywan), Jeffrey (Wendy), Peter (Marlene) and Faith; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Barrett (Jacob Gdovin), Emily Barrett (Taylor Wilson), Jessica Minott (George) and Nick Zywan.
Due to the pandemic, a public service will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
