He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mildred Barrett (Bogert) and Lawrence Barrett; his siblings, Jean Hansen and Bruce (Zelma); his children, Katherine Barrett Zywan (Daniel), Jeffrey (Wendy), Peter (Marlene) and Faith; his grandchildren, Stephanie Barrett (Jacob Gdovin), Emily Barrett (Taylor Wilson), Jessica (George Minott) and Nick Zywan; his wife Evelyn Paisley Steele; and his daughter Deborah Evelyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
