He was predeceased by: his children, Michael Gordon LaVine (Sharon) and Kimberly Dianne LaVine; his sister Betty Lamoreaux (LaVine); and also Edward Smith Jr.. He is survived by: his parents, Earl Merton and Marguerite Josselyn LaVine; and his children, Joel Bradford LaVine (Deborah LaVine) of South Portland, Nancy Jane LaVine (William Grover) of Lewiston Maine, Robert Josselyn LaVine (Robin DuLac) of Lewiston and Shannon Elizabeth Stone (LaVine). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
