He was predeceased by: his parents, Hormidas Gagnon and Jeannette Gagnon; his wife Lorraine P. Potvin; and his brother Bertrand. He is survived by: his children, Richard (Darlene Gagnon), Monique (Yvan Grimard), Celine Gagnon and Lori-Ann (David Drouin); his grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Ashley, Krista, Kaileb, Anthony and Derek; and his sisters-in-law, Fleurette Bell, Dorothy Levasseur, Rita Potvin and Florence Potvin. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association.
