It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William T. Merchant (Livermore Falls, Maine), who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alba Merchant and Mary Merchant (Burke); his former wife Marguerite Colburn; and his brothers, James Merchant (Mary), Joseph Merchant and John "Francis" Merchant.
He is survived by: his sons, James, William, Joseph and John Merchant (Francis); his wife Doris Dumeny; his children, Sheila Dorey (Rick) of Winthrop, Maine, Dennis Merchant (Ellie Stratton) of East Livermore, Maine, Ricky Dumeny (Nancy) of Jay, Maine, Nancy Mitchell (Paul) of Fayette, Maine, Steve Dumeny (Celeste Turner) of Chelsea, Maine and Susan Caldwell (Philip) of Jay, Maine; his sisters-in-law, Lorraine Merchant of Newport, Maine, Caroline Merchant and Alice Colburn of Claremont; and his in-laws, Norman, Maddy Whipple, Jack, Timmie Barber, Walt, Lois Colburn, Beatrice, Montford Grover, Bo Colburn, Lucille Merchant, Phyllis, Lee Pease, Beverly, Joe Hlista, Bertha, Clayton Morse, Philip Morse and Irene Morse. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great, Great, Grandchild, and several Nieces and Nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Birchland Cemetery (260 E Dixfield Rd, Jay, ME 04239).
