He is survived by: his wife Jean; and his children, Debbie Whitman (Tom) of Marshfield, Robin Beal (Scott) of Baileyville, Melony Beal (Bill) of Tyrone, Loring Totman of Franklin and Tom Totman of Bangor.
Grandchildren: (that knew him as ''Pup") Megan LaPlant and husband Matthew, Chad Beal and boyfriend Sam, Kirby Murphy and husband Mike, Kelsey Beal, Jacob Beal, Sean. Whitman and girlfriend Catherine, Shelby Whitman and niece's and nephews, Christopher Totman, Amanda Totman and boyfriend Daniel. Great Grand Children: Tyler and Ian LaPlant, Ryan and Carter Murphy and soon to arrive Mateo. Art is also survived by a special cousin Norma Morse Smith, special daughter -in-law Jodi Totman, special friend Sylvia White and long- time sailing mate G.W. "Giffy" Full. And lastly, by his faithful canine companion Benjamin. A masonic and memorial service will be held at the Bucks Harbor Baptist Church on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm with a reception immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home – Machias. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated professionals at Eastern Maine Medical Center, The Layfette Cancer Center and The Marshall Health Care facility that went out of their way to be certain Art and his family were well cared for and fully informed.
