He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Ernest Stein and Marion Stein (Valerius); and his son Ernest William Stein III. He is survived by: his wife Clare; his daughters, Lisa (Jeffrey Pierce) of Clinton and Lynne (Mark Chase) of Florida; his grandsons, William Chase, Benjamin Pierce and Ryan Chase; his sister Valerie Sinclair (Hershel); and his siblings-in-law, Anne Stein and Rick Cyr (Rhonda). He is also survived by niece, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle.
